Embed event managers inside the client organization.
technique — attributed to Colja Dams
The fastest-growing part of VOK DAMS is what Dams calls implant business: placing agency event managers directly inside client organizations to run the day-to-day event portfolios that corporations produce continuously and rarely treat as a coherent strategy. The result is that a regional briefing in Duesseldorf delivers the same brand experience as the annual summit in Zurich, and the mediocre Tuesday afternoon meeting that contradicts the flagship no longer exists. Roughly a third to half of the agency's business now comes through multi-year partnerships rather than RFPs, with engagements running two, four, or six years.
For agencies designing offerings beyond project work, and for corporate event owners with sprawling portfolios. The pitch is consistency and accumulated context, priced as partnership rather than per project.
