Núñez's Young People's Chorus of New York City began with his own childhood. Latino father with Black heritage, Latina mother, blended family in the 1960s when that was uncommon. The household had love and education. What expanded his options was meeting children from across the financial spectrum, who had different ways of thinking and living. YPC is the institutional version of that personal experience. The mission is creating options through community for many children. The origin matters because it explains the program's structural design. Cross-class, cross-religion, cross-ethnicity composition is not a diversity add-on. It is the founder's lived hypothesis about how children's possible futures expand.
