Miller's narrative mapping uses two threads. The emotional narrative asks how the event inspires, outrages, delights, or creates desire. The rational thread asks how to build the logical argument that complements the emotional journey. The artistry is in weaving the two together to tell a single more effective narrative. The discipline matters because most events default to one thread or the other. Pure emotional events feel manipulative and lack substance. Pure rational events fail to move anyone. The dual-thread design respects that humans operate on both registers and that decisions get made when both have been engaged. The skill is in the integration.
