Burnout is a structural problem, not a personal one.

The exhaustion experienced by event professionals is not a private weakness. It is the predictable output of an industry where planning timelines have shortened, staffing levels have shrunk, and clients have grown comfortable making decisions later in the process. The pressure that was supposed to ease after the pandemic never did. Treating burnout as an HR concern rather than a systemic condition guarantees it will keep producing the same outcome.
The reframing required before any meaningful intervention on crew welfare can be designed.
