Build the event before you build the event.
principle — attributed to Iain Morrison
Most events are built blind. Producers, sponsors, and executives review technical drawings or floor plans and try to imagine what the finished environment will feel like. They guess. Guessing is expensive. The discipline that distinguishes serious global productions is the willingness to walk the event before it physically exists, in three dimensions, with sightlines and staging and hospitality all visible at scale. Pre-visualization is becoming the operating system of large-scale event production.
For productions complex enough that interpretation of 2D plans is producing surprises in load-in.
