Vision first. Operations second. In that order.
technique — attributed to Andrew Roby
The work begins by imagining what the room will feel like from the perspective of the guest, not by calculating budgets or production schedules. Will there be a moment that sparks curiosity or surprise? Will the environment feel alive? Only after the vision exists does the planner work backward through venue constraints, audiovisual requirements, and logistics. Reversing the order produces events that are operationally tidy and emotionally inert.
For planners and clients who default to budget conversations before the experiential vision is set.
