Closing the Gap Between Stage and Seat
observation — attributed to Colja Dams
Nobody came to a conference for seventeen tracks and five thousand sessions. They came to meet the person standing next to them, and the agenda of the person in the seat has almost nothing to do with the agenda of the person who built the stage. Hyper-personalization has become its own form of cognitive punishment, and the events that close the gap between the stage and the seat are the ones that work.
