VOK DAMS is co-led by Dams and his wife Claudia Köhler-Dams, who manages both the operational reality of a 300-person global agency and, by his own account, Dams himself. Before certain meetings she sends a message specifying which directions to leave alone because the agency already has enough on its plate. The division is explicit: he focuses on forward movement and the next opportunity; she supplies the focus that keeps the forward movement from becoming a perpetual expansion of scope. He is specific and public about the fact that the agency runs better because of this structure.
